What exactly is perceptimate® and how does the device work?
perceptimate® is an innovative edge AI platform for object recognition and classification. The technology enables complex AI calculations to be performed directly on very cost-effective standard microcontrollers (“edge AI”) without the need for expensive hardware or external cloud connections.
Is the platform compliant with data protection regulations (GDPR) and secure?
Yes, the solution is fully compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the requirements of the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA). Since data processing takes place 100% offline on the device, no images are stored or sent to a cloud. The system only processes metadata (e.g., “cat detected at coordinates X,Y”) and thus natively complies with the principles of “security by design” and “privacy by default.”
Does perceptimate® require a permanent Internet or cloud connection?
No, the system offers complete offline functionality. Object recognition (inference) takes place locally on the edge device in less than a second. By eliminating cloud offloading, response times in the millisecond range are achieved, completely eliminating latency issues.
What is the “Model Marketplace” and how can I benefit from it?
The Model Marketplace is a digital store where users can flexibly download specific recognition models (e.g., for people, cars, dogs, or cats) to their device. This allows the hardware's use case to be changed and adapted at any time. In addition, a “Train your model” feature is planned, which will allow users to train models for their own specific use cases.
How does the solution integrate with existing infrastructures or smart homes?
The technology integrates seamlessly into existing environments via modern interfaces such as USB-C, Bluetooth (BT), Wi-Fi, Zigbee, and Thread. Upon successful object recognition, the system can also instantaneously trigger actions on connected third-party devices.

Industrial OEM partners, like garage door and access system manufacturers, can license and integrate perceptimate® tech directly. 7. What costs should I expect?
Unlike cloud-based AI solutions, the basic on-device processing models incur no ongoing costs or expensive cloud subscriptions. Hardware costs are also significantly lower than those of competing solutions. Only additional or highly specialized AI models can be purchased as upsells via the Model Marketplace, if needed.
8. For which use cases is the technology suitable?
The initial market entry focuses on the B2C sector (smart animal repellers for garden owners) and the B2B sector for smart home integrations. However, since perceptimate® is based on the "one platform – numerous use cases" approach, the technology can easily be applied to many other industries such as smart waste management or logistics.
